Water helps to improve digestion and contributes to the proper metabolization of food. Our organs need water to metabolize fat, so being properly hydrated is an essential part of weight loss and maintaining a healthy weight! Do you want BETTER Performance? Dehydration can impact your performance, strength, and endurance when playing sports or exercising. If you want to train harder and smarter, hydrate – hydrate – hydrate!

Stay hydrated and stay SHARP. Even a 2% drop in hydration can affect your cognitive performance!  Being adequately hydrated is proven to reduce feelings of fatigue. If you have a job that involves a lot of brainpower and concentration, being properly hydrated can make your life so much easier! Hydration levels even affect mental health too; being dehydrated can increase feelings of panic which adversely affects these conditions.

Water is NEEDED to… aid in cushioning joints, moisten oxygen for breathing, help the body absorb nutrients, protect and cushion vital organs, help regulate body temperature, help to convert food into energy, remove waste through the kidneys, and help carry nutrients and oxygen to cells.

Tips to Stay Hydrated

  • Flavor it! You’re more likely to drink MORE water if you like it! Cucumber, mint, lemon- the options are endless!
  • Set a reminder in your phone to go off every few hours to drink 8oz of water!
  • Make a personal goal to drink YOUR required amount of water every day, for the next 21 days. Work towards a reward if that will keep you motivated until drinking this much water is a habit!
