Tailgate Treats: Day 1

Tailgates and burgers go hand in hand, and these Portobello Burgers are where it’s at! Juicy, PACKED with flavor, and sandwiched between two meaty Portobello mushrooms, you’ll want these at your Keto Reboot Tailgate and every week in between!

Portobello Burgers


  • 4 large (bun sized) portobello mushroom caps
  • 2 tbsp. Butter
  • 1 lb grass-fed ground beef
  • 2 TBS. dried onion
  • 1 tsp. minced garlic
  • ½ tsp. Basil
  • ½ tsp. onion powder
  • ½ tsp. salt
  • ¼ tsp. pepper

Portobello Butter Buns

  1. Clean and dry mushroom tops.
  2. Remove stems and gills.
  3. Sauté tops in melted butter for 3 minutes on each side.
  4. Place on paper towel and let sit while cooking a hamburger.
  5. Combine dried onion, minced garlic, basil, onion powder, salt, and pepper with ground beef
  6. Form patties 3/4” thick.
  7. Grill on medium-high/high heat for 4 minutes/side for medium doneness!
  8. Sandwich burger between Portobello “buns”
  9. Add your favorite cheese and low carb toppings.
